Comments and Liability

Under current law (and our Terms of Service), responsibility for comments is clearly defined. However, we would like to point out at the outset that the primary document for determining responsibility for comments is the site rules (in addition to the current regulations) and this text does not take precedence over the rules. This text is only meant to give a descriptive and less condensed explanation of the rules governing responsibility for comments, in short. The person who posts a comment is responsible for that comment. Why? We explain it below.

This service allows users to share their knowledge about a given unknown number by posting a service comment. We have neither the physical nor the technological ability to verify the veracity of users' statements. Additionally, everyone using the service accepts its regulations. Also, by writing a comment a second time, you confirm that you know the terms and conditions to ensure that you knowingly accept the terms and conditions. It is written that the user is responsible for the comment, and the user knowingly accepts it.

By providing commenting tools to make you more aware of how this works, let's compare the situation to what everyone is probably familiar with. For example, to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. There, the services provide users with tools to write their thoughts. With one click we can publish anything we want. However, we must be aware that if we slander someone on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, it is the person who writes the content which is responsible for his or her words, not the services that have only provided a place, a tool to convey their opinions. It works the same way with us.

So if you feel that someone has slandered you in a comment or written untruth and you want to draw consequences, address your claims directly to that person. If you do not know who this person is, the police will help you, and you should file a request for prosecution. If the police ask us for help, we will help identify such a person. But responsibility can only be borne by the commenter, no other person or institution, including our service.
